Jeremy Basso
Treasurer
Jeremy has served on the IPA Board of Directors since 2014. He is currently an assistant band director at Avon High School after two years as Director of Bands at Avon Middle School South. A native of Indianapolis, Jeremy is a graduate of Indiana State University, where he studied bass trombone with Dr. Randy Mitchell and performed with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. John Boyd.
Before moving to Avon in 2023, Jeremy served as Assistant Band Director at Greenfield Central High School. During his tenure, the band program earned numerous accolades across concert band, marching band, winter winds, and jazz ensemble performance.
In addition to his work in public education, Jeremy is actively involved in the marching arts community. He has served as a timing and penalties judge for both IPA and WGI. More recently, he has worked as a marching band adjudicator in Indiana and Kentucky.
Jeremy has been a brass instructor in Drum Corps International for over a decade and is currently on the brass staff for the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. His previous DCI affiliations include the Mandarins, Crossmen, Troopers, Blue Stars, and Southwind. He was named Assistant Brass Caption Head of the Troopers in 2021 and served as their Brass Caption Head during the 2024 season.
Jeremy, his wife Brooke and their two children, Brady and Olivia, live in Avon, IN.
