IPA ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Indiana Perucussion Association is seeking an Administrative Director to assist in the coming 2017-2018 season!
The Administrative Director is the lead employee of the Indiana Percussion Association, Inc. and will report directly to the Board of Directors. The Administrative Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and logistics of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach.
This part time position will be a 12-month, contracted appointment and we plan on filling it as soon as possible. The potential hourly commitment will vary based on the time of year – during the months of November-March, the work load will be in the area of 20+ hours a week, during the other months of the year, about 5-10 hours a week. The position would require the applicant to be physically present for meetings and all IPA sanctioned events through the year.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and the work load described.
The Indiana Percussion Association exists fundamentally for its participants: youth, staff, and supporters. •A bachelor’s degree
•Transparent and high integrity leadership
•Familiarity with nonprofit management
•Budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
•Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
•Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
•Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
•Strong written and oral communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
•Strong public speaking ability
•Knowledge of the indoor percussion activity preferred, but not required.
1) Works in tangent with the board in order to fulfill the IPA mission and philosophy.
•Accountable for all duties assigned by the Board and must make IPA a priority in their schedule.
•Assist with effective administration of IPA, Inc. operations.
•Assist with strategic planning to ensure that IPA, Inc. can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.
2) Works with board and staff, including Event Coordinators to ensure that all IPA events run smoothly and there is a dedicated point of contact for ALL events and “All things IPA.”
•Communicate between IPA board, State Finals venue staff, Show Hosts, Event Coordinators, Directors, and Fans via email and social media all updates as they relate to performances, facilities, and events.
•Assists with implementation of IPA, Inc.’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.
•Responsible for the enhancement of IPA, Inc.’s image by being active and visible in the community, present at official IPA events, and expanding/promoting IPA’s presence on social media.
3) To assist in developing resources that ensure the financial health of the organization.
•Works with the treasurer to assure finances are in order.
•Works with board on long range financial planning.
•Works to develop current sponsor relationships and establish new sponsors for IPA, Inc.
In addition, the Administrative Director will:
- Work with and advise the Scholarship Chairman outlined in Section IV of the MOO. Work to create and maintain a scholarship committee.
- Take on role of Public Relations Chairman outlined in Section IV of the MOO.
- Take on role of Awards Chairman outlined in Section IV of the MOO.
- Take on role of Historical Archive Chairman outlined in Section IV of the MOO.
- Take on role of Business Advisor as outlined in Section III of the MOO.
- Take on role of Sponsorship Advisor. No outlines listed in MOO.
- Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
